Early Intervention Deinstitutionalisation Day & Respite Care Equality Playgrounds Arms Control Commemoration Historical Research New Programmes

New Home Daycare and Respite Centres:  Coupled with the Voluntas Early Intervention Programme are the New Home Daycare and Respite Centres.  These are for children with profound multiple learning disabilities who, because of the Voluntas Early Intervention Programme,  have been able to remain with their families rather than being institutionalised. Thanks to these centres and government run rehabilitation centres participating in the VEIP  parents are able to have their days free while their children receive state of the art care.  The New Home Daycare and Respite Centres also offer short-term respite care for the children when parents require extra time to devote to other responsibilities and care.  New methodologies and education methods are continually being introduced by our partner organisations and the centres serve as training centres for facilities throughout the countries and regions in which they are located providing examples and instruction in best practice.  This project would not have been possible without the guidance, professionalism, training, resources and support of Norwood (http://www.norwood.org.uk/) the UKs leading provider of care for those with learning disabilities.  Norwood continues to provide ongoing support and training for this programme.

If you would like further information about this programme or have any suggestions or questions please email us at  d&r@voluntas.org.  We look forward to hearing from you.
